Green Apples
Festival Place has been awarded a bronze, silver and two gold Green Apple Award for work the centre has undertaken to reduce the impact the centre has on the environment
Our most recent Green Apple, presented to Steven Connolly, Centre Director at Festival Place by star of stage and screen, Carol Royle, at the Tower of London, was in recognition of the Energy and Water usage reduction programme implemented.
The judges commented on Festival Place’s entry: “Its payback time at Festival Place. One of the major hurdles for greening a building is financial outlay, but with their lighting improvements having a return on investment of nine months, and waterless urinals paying for themselves within four months, it’s a no-brainer.”
