Theresa’s Lifestyle Blog...

I’m Counting on You

I’m Counting on You

So here we are, week three. Are you bored yet? I hope not, I’m counting on you to transform me!

This week you voted for Body Balance.  I’m very happy with that result, thank you, and I have high hopes for improved posture.

This week your vote will be for hair colour. Is mine the right colour for my skin tone? I’ve never been brave enough to have anything but blonde highlights – not so exciting and very, very safe!

I have to say I’m really fortunate that I was able to chat with and get advice from Jason Smith, International Celebrity Hairdresser, and now I’m very excited!

Jason is actually a friend and colleague of Wendy Elsmore who some of you will know writes for our website, and hosts our regular Style Academy. Jason joined her at the last Style Academy, and I explained what I was doing with the Blog. He was then kind enough to send through 3 colours that he thinks will suit me. All I have to do is get you to choose for me then go to one of our great salons here in the Centre.

His comments were:

Bright & Beautiful Blonde, as Blondes have more fun!

“Multi tonal crisp blonde always gives a lift to your personality. I see Theresa with lots of blonde highlights in 3-4 shades to create movement, texture and sunlight shine”

A Rhapsody of Shimmering Gold

“Theresa has the perfect combination of eye & skin tone to be any array of shades. Golden tones with hints of amber would give a great golden warm glow. A stunning look to pick up on the first signs of Autumn.
Think Golden Sunset!”

Autumn Contrast

“Colour can be used to really create movement and texture in your hair. My third option for a complete change would be a little more dramatic. I would use combinations of gold tones with chocolate and browns giving much more depth to the hair, immediately illuminating Theresa’s beautiful eyes”

I'm nervous but extremely excited just reading that!!

Jason is going to be part of our Strictly Glamour Fashion Event in October and will be helping to style Camilla Dallerup, but also hosting sessions where he will show you how to use different products to hold your style, and advise you which styles are for you.

This is actually sounding a bit like an advert and I’m so sorry, I don’t mean it to. But I really want you to know that the help I’m getting on my journey is in fact available to all of you, apart from the Public Vote of course!  You just need to know who to ask. And that is hopefully where I can help you as much as you are helping me… by letting you know where I am getting advice and help from and sharing it with you.

The Gym. Okay I’m still not loving it I have to say. I think part of that is that I’m not giving it priority. I’m fitting it in when I can, and it hasn’t become a habit or part of my routine yet.

But it’s only been a couple of weeks so I mustn’t stress about it.

StressIndian Head Massage. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Everything you have heard about it is true. You HAVE to try it! It cost me just £35 and lasted 30 minutes and was just the best thing ever.

Probably the most noticeable difference in me since week one is my skin. People who haven’t seen me for a while, and don’t know that I am writing this Blog are saying that I’m looking radiant and have I been on holiday? (I haven’t). And as sceptical as I was to be giving up my soap and mit, I have to agree with them. There truly is a difference. I can’t tell you whether it’s the fact that it’s Lancome, and therefore brilliant, or that less expensive creams would work as well.

What I can say is that it’s working for me. But do you know what I think is really helping? I’m caring. I’m bothering to spend time on myself that I didn’t before, so I’m shifting myself up on my list of priorities. And it feels great. The routine of spending that me time, particularly at the end of the day is wonderful. And I know that this is definitely something I will continue way after the Blog has ended.

On the work front, it’s was a great week. We had Jungle Animals in over the Bank Holiday and it’s a part of my job that I love. To see the look of happiness on the kids faces is priceless.

I also got to meet Camilla Dallerup last week, so we could talk through her part in the fashion event. You’re in for a treat. She is lovely …and oh so beautiful. I felt the size of a house next to her though! But not for much longer. I am proud to report that I have lost 7lbs so far. At this rate, by October, Camilla will be the one feeling huge when she stands next to me – he he!

I’m actually on holiday this week, hooray, so the next instalment will not be until I am back on 16 Sept. Ah – maybe you should ignore my weight loss gloating, I’m going to the South of France and have no intention of being good. At all.

While I am away you get to take my crowning glory and decide its fate. I’m excited and very scared in equal measure.

Don’t forget, I’m the one on the front page of the website, not in the photos showing the colours you have to choose from!

Please be kind to me…we’re friends now aren’t we?!

Speak to you soon,
