The event kicked off with energetic catwalk shows which really pulled a crowd in and showcased a fantastic array of the latest Autumn Winter looks. Taking to the runway included French Connection and L K Bennett with the latest evening wear must-have’s whilst Zara and Superdry showcased a slightly more casual collection.

Social Media phenomenon Poppy Dinsey was also with us throughout the event. Poppy recently established her own immensely successful social network; where people can upload photos of what they wear each day. Poppy was with us throughout the event, taking pictures of stylish shoppers which were then uploaded to the Festival Place’s Street Style feature as well as Poppy’s website www.wiwt.com.

The star of the event though was Mark Heyes, celebrity stylist from L K Today. The fashion guru compared each of the catwalk shows on the Sunday. He told us: “I am a huge supporter of the British high street so to be able to come here and get slap bang in the middle of it is really great. There are so many great outfits available from stores like these so let’s carry on supporting them.”

Throughout the weekend we also held exclusive Style Confidence workshops with Wendy Elsmore, director of the London College of Style and a regular on ITVs This Morning. Wendy taught the ladies that attended about their body shapes and how to dress in this seasons trends in a way that flatters each shape. There were also hands on styling lessons from Shear Beauty and Smashbox – who taught the ladies how to recreate that professional look at home. The Fashion Festival was a huge success; it not only showcased those essential Autumn Winter items but also gave our shoppers the confidence to wear them with a smile!
