Anne Diamond to host this year's Place to Be Proud Of Awards
Along with the existing ten awards, Destination Basingstoke, together with local company, Great Guns Marketing, will once again be awarding five grants worth £200 each to the most deserving groups who are working towards giving something back to their community. The winners will be presented with their cheques by Liz Jackson, founder of Great Guns Marketing, who recently appeared on Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain some funding to help towards a specific project. Applications for the grants can be made on line at www.destinationbasingstoke.co.uk. All groups have to do is write a 250 word statement outlining the reasons why the group or community organisation should receive a grant of £200 and what the money would be spent on.
The Place to Be Proud Of Awards are organised by Destination Basingstoke and sponsored by Festival Place, the Basingstoke Gazette and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. Felicity Edwards, Managing Director of Destination Basingstoke, commented: “We’re delighted that Anne has agreed to host the awards ceremony this year. She is such a well-respected broadcaster and her interest in local communities is evident in her radio shows. The awards continue to go from strength to strength and we’re looking forward to receiving even more nominations this year!
