Shopping with children in tow can be a challenge. They get bored easily, ask to go to the toilet repeatedly and beg for things not on the list! Luckily, Festival Place has plenty of fun ways to keep the whole family entertained.
Basingstoke Discovery Centre
Located on the Ground Floor opposite Nationwide, Basingstoke Discovery Centre is a great free way to keep your little ones amused, with a range of regular activities for children including rhyme time and board games.
A fun all rounder, Basingstoke Sports Centre, has something for all the family. As well as a fully equipped gym, swimming pool and health spa, there is the PlayDen for children's entertainment and parties. For more adventurous visitors there is also a climbing wall or if you just want a quiet place to unwind, you can enjoy the PS Lounge café.
Whether you’re looking for clothes, presents or just a little treat, Festival Place has a variety of shops to keep the children happy. Gap Kids, H&M Kids and Debenhams will ensure they are the envy of all their friends, while the Build-A-Bear Workshop, Smiggle and The Entertainer are perfect for fun gifts.
Where to eat
After a long day’s shopping you’ll be in need of some refuelling! Thankfully, there are over 20 restaurants and cafés with lots of children friendly options to choose from at Festival Place. At Coal Grill and Bar both parents and children are kept happy, with three courses available for just £6.40 and a special lollipop and balloon for little ones that manage to eat everything up. Ed’s Easy Diner also keeps junior diners entertained with their special build-a-burger app game. However, if you just want a coffee catch-up, then Costa offers younger guests a Babyccino or hit Pret for a glass of cold milk.
And as if that’s not enough to keep you busy, Festival Place has a jam packed diary of family fun events. For full details of what’s coming up visit our Events section.
