Festival Place is putting the final touches in place ready to welcome back its shoppers on April 12.
After three months of lockdown, the centre’s non-essential retailers will be able to open their doors again.
New signage is being been placed around the centre reminding people of the safety measures, such as wearing face coverings, following the one-way system and social distance queuing outside the stores.
Hand sanitisers remain at the centre’s entrances and a thorough cleaning regime will be carried out regularly throughout the day so that customers can maintain a high level of hygiene.
The centre has been partially open since the UK’s third lockdown at the beginning of January, with essential shops such as supermarkets, banks and pharmacies open.
FP Director Neil Churchill said: “We are very excited to welcome back our customers. The news seems to be very positive with the rollout of the vaccination programme and infection rates going down. We hope this really will be the last time our non-essential retailers will have to close their doors.
“However, we must remember that the priority as always is the health and wellbeing of our customers and employees of Festival Place, so we will continue to ask you all to wear face coverings and keep social distancing to make sure that we are safe and continuing to look after each other.
“We have produced clear, but friendly, signs around the centre to show people how to shop safely and our enhanced cleaning procedures are all in place.
“We hope that our fabulous and loyal customers will come back and support all the retailers in Basingstoke so that we can get back to normal levels of trading very soon.”
The centre is open from 9:30am-6pm Monday – Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday. Customers are advised check individual retailer pages for their specific hours as these may differ.
