We’re excited to let you know that we’ve been nominated in two categories of Destination Basingstoke’s Place to be Proud of Awards.
We’ll find out on the 15th July whether we have won either Green Champion of the Year and the Above and Beyond award.
As a business shortlisted for the Green Champion award we have been recognised for our commitment to working with the community to make Basingstoke a cleaner, greener, more sustainable place to work and live through some of our environmental initiatives.
These include the work our technical services team has done in the centre’s non-public areas, by installing a new lighting system, dimming down to 10 per cent during periods when no one is nearby, meaning the lights are only fully on for around one hour each day. This has reduced CO2 emissions by 47.4 tonnes a year and made savings of £190,000 over a five-year period.
In the Above and Beyond category our Duty Team has been nominated for always going that extra mile with customers and the community as a whole.
FP Director Neil Churchill said: “We are so pleased to be nominated for these fantastic awards celebrating the best of Basingstoke. Both categories are areas very close to our hearts. We particularly pride ourselves on our can-do attitude to help the public and our customers. Our Duty Team continues to drive this focus every day. Which is particularly important at the moment.
“To be nominated for a green award is also special for us. We work hard to deliver new energy-saving, sustainable initiatives and to be recognised doing this is reward in itself. I wish the teams involved in both awards the best of luck for the virtual award ceremony on July 15.”
