A creative and mindful workshop will run at Festival Place as part of this year’s Basingstoke Festival.
The free workshop will be hosted by ArtWell, a local not-for-profit community arts organisation that harnesses the power of art to create positive change.
Visitors can learn how to create a beautiful heart in a Heart-Felt-Hug workshop on July 9. The event will take place in Unity 49 on the upper level. Sessions start at 4pm or 5pm and last 30 minutes with booking essential.
This free event is suitable for all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided, with a donation towards costs welcome.
ArtWell was established by sculptor and psychotherapist Corinne Marsh in 2019, and brings together poets, artists, film makers and ceramicists to work with people from all backgrounds and life experiences.
“We reach out to socially isolated, vulnerable people facing multiple challenges and bring them together to create communities where they can find the freedom to express themselves creatively,” says Corinne.
Basingstoke Festival sees a jam-packed programme of free Covid-secure performances and events taking place throughout the town centre and beyond until Sunday, July 11.
Established by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in 2012, the festival aims to promote the borough by showcasing arts and cultural organisations alongside a wealth of community organisations.
