A socially-distanced open-air production at Basingstoke shopping centre Festival Place will leave you grinning like the Cheshire Cat later this month.
Audiences are invited to follow Alice down the rabbit hole to a magical world of Wonderland with a host of crazy characters, musical numbers and colourful costumes.
The production, created by Basingstoke theatre company Pumpkin Pantos, is set to take place at The Amphitheatre at Festival Place on September 19 and 20 at 1pm and 4pm.
Marketing Manager Emily Palmer said: “We’re always looking for different and exciting experiences to bring to Festival Place and we think our visitors will love this performance of Alice in Wonderland. For lots of us this will be the first live theatre we’ve seen in a long time.
“As a leisure destination, we strive to make Festival Place so much more than just shopping and, in this day and age, we are challenging ourselves to be as creative as possible with the space we have.”
Pumpkin Pantos Director Josh Dixon says “We are extremely excited to be producing live theatre once again and hope to bring some joy to the town at such a difficult time.
“Precautions are being put in place to ensure the event is run safely and smoothly with regards to government guidelines.”
Alice in Wonderland runs for approximately one hour with no interval and is recommended for ages 3+. Tickets are available to purchase from the Anvil Arts website for £12 each and no more than six tickets can be purchased at one time.
