Lush Fighting Hygiene Poverty

Home/Community/Lush Fighting Hygiene Poverty

Our cosmetics retailer Lush is supporting the fight against hygiene poverty by becoming a donation point.

Lush famous for its fresh, handmade products, especially its bath bombs, is supporting the charity Beauty Banks.

Set up to help anyone in hygiene poverty, no matter their gender, age or situation, Beauty Banks acts like a foodbank, but instead of food they provide personal care and hygiene products.

Working alongside registered foodbanks, refuges and homeless facilities the charity provides products such as unopened toothpaste, shampoo, soap and deodorant.

Now anyone in Basingstoke wanting to help can donate hygiene or beauty products to Lush which will then be distributed to local charities to get to those who most need help.

Lucy Fenner, Supervisor at Lush, said: “We’re so excited to now be a donation point for Beauty Banks. It’s an incredible charity providing products that we often take for granted, but without them it can affect your health as well as self-esteem.

“We hope as many people as possible will donate unopened toiletries to us so that we can make a real impact in Basingstoke.”
