FAQS

The changes are designed to reflect a modern approach to parking and will see the car park become barrierless, ticketless and largely cashless.

Using number plate recognition technology (ANPR) and an app-free permit system, registered visitors will be able to drive in and out of the car park without the need for a ticket.

We have teamed up with Hozah – the UK’s leading provider of automated parking – to let visitors to FP register their car and card details just once online to enjoy cashless, ticketless parking every time they visit.

The new parking system is coming on the 24th September.

The new system is a much more modern, greener and efficient approach to parking, and brings us in line with many other car parks offering barrierless, ticketless and cashless parking.

Absolutely. We understand that some people don’t have access to online platforms and they will choose to continue to pay as they have always done at the machines. The only difference will be, is that there will be no tickets and they will have to enter their car registration. All cars number plates will be picked up by the number plate technology.

Yes of course although very few of our visitors choose to pay with cash. The vast majority use a card or their phone.

Payment will never be taken until you have actually visited the centre and the ANPR system has recognised that your car has left the car park.

Our pricing structure will stay exactly the same.

Hozah is the UK’s leading provider of automated parking and has provided similar systems for other shopping centres, football clubs and universities.

The online process is different from other organisations which uses an app. This uses an online platform where you register your car details and payment details just once. The ANPR number plate recognition system then picks up your car on arrival and again when it leaves and takes that exact payment from your registered details. It all happens automatically.

It’s not pre booking, just pre-registering. You don’t have to notify anyone of when you want to visit FP.

If you are not registered there’s no problem, you can pay at one of our payment kiosks by just entering your car number plate and then paying by card, cash or phone.

If you leave the centre without paying and you’re not registered, then as with any other car park you will get a penalty notice through the post.

The capacity of the car park is closely monitored and when it’s full, the entry will be closed by members of the team to allow the appropriate number of cars to exit before it's reopened.

ELECTRIC CHARGING

BP Pulse (formally known as BP Chargemaster) -

The six electric charging units, found on Level 5, run from the BP Pulse network. To use these, you will need your RFID card or fob.

We recognise that as EVs are becoming more mainstream, we have teamed up with BP charge master to increase charging facilities nationwide. As ranges increase and the public start to rely on their EVs for longer journeys, we want to ensure that we build a reliable, efficient and maintained network of rapid and destination chargers.

Polar Instant / BP Pulse allows you to access over 7,000 charging points across the UK directly from your smart phone without the need for an RFID card or a monthly subscription.

How to start a charge:

  • Download the Polar Instant or BP Pulse app. Register as a user and top-up your wallet by either using a credit/debit card or Apple & Google Pay.
  • Next, simply search for the charge point that you wish to use.
  • Once you have arrived at the charging point, select the start charge button and select the charger you would like to connect to when prompted. Wait for the app to connect to the post and then plug in your vehicle as displayed on the charging point.
  • When your charging session is coming to an end simply select the stop charge button on your app and a signal will be sent to the charge point to finish the charge and release your cable.
  • You will then be sent to a summary page which will display the cost of the charge, your energy usage, the time spent charging and the site details.
