Afrizi is officially one of the top places to eat in Basingstoke, winning two food awards in one weekend!
The popular independent Nigerian restaurant based at Festival Place picked up a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2024, and a Good Food Award Blue Ribbon.
Both awards were based on customer reviews, proving delicious food and great vibes are a winning combination with diners.
Tripadvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards recognise businesses that consistently receive great reviews, placing them among the top 10 per cent of listings on Tripadvisor.
The Good Food Awards recognise the hard-working teams striving for culinary excellence in their field, and the prestigious Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes is awarded to those with the highest customer ratings and votes.
Basingstoke’s first African restaurant, Afrizi is owned and managed by Carlee Osundina and her husband Ezekiel, and offers customers a menu showcasing a range of delicious Nigerian street foods, including vegan, vegetarian and halal options.
A champion of sustainability, Afrizi also uses upcycled furniture and eco-friendly packaging.
Ezekiel Osundina said: “We’re incredibly thrilled to win these amazing awards and the fact that they are based on the reviews we receive is incredibly important to us.
“We are so grateful to all the guests who take the time to go online and leave a great review of their experience with us. Our hard-working team is dedicated to bringing the very best service to both loyal returning customers and those discovering us for the first time.”
FP Centre Director Vicky Hickson said: “It’s great to see one of our fantastic independents being recognised like this. Afrizi is so popular with our customers, and we couldn’t be more delighted that they continue to go from strength to strength.”
