Festival Place supports Ark Charity's ‘Longest Day’ fundraising campaign

Festival Place Shopping Centre is supporting a campaign to raise money for a new NHS cancer treatment centre at Basingstoke hospital.

Friday, June 21, is Ark Day, when the Ark Cancer Centre Charity will be encouraging people and businesses across the Basingstoke and Deane community to support its bid to use the longest day of the year to help raise the £5 million needed to fund the centre.

Ark Day collectors will be located at a number of locations around Festival Place, with volunteers collecting and informing shoppers about the cause between 10am and 6pm.

Neil Churchill, Centre Director at Festival Place, said: “This is a fantastic cause and we are happy to support Ark Day and encourage our wonderful customers to come along and find out more about it”.

“This cancer treatment centre will make a huge difference to people across the region, and we’re delighted to be able to help.”

Mark Jones, director of fundraising and communications at Ark Cancer Centre Charity and a member of the Ark Day Organising Committee, said: “The Ark Day team are grateful to Festival Place for their great support. The charity collections in the shopping centre on Friday, June 21 will be a significant part of the Ark Day campaign, and thanks to Neil Churchill and his team for supporting this.

“The Festival Place team have been great supporters of Ark Cancer Centre Charity in recent years, and their backing for Ark Day is very much appreciated, and will make a big difference.”
