This November and December, Festival Place in Basingstoke is hosting a series of free flower crafting workshops as part of its packed programme of festive events, where customers can learn to create something beautiful and help support local charities at the same time.
Hampshire Flower Studio’s wreath-making workshops will teach the traditional art of decorative wreath-making in a specially designed pop-up studio that aims to create a relaxing and peaceful environment for adults.
Each weekend of workshops will be collecting donations for a different charity from the Basingstoke area, including the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Workshop participants will learn how to make door wreaths and table wreaths from spruce, eucalyptus, holly and ivy, with seasonal touches such as orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and ribbons. All the fresh foliage and accessories are provided.
Neil Churchill, Centre Director at Festival Place, said: “This is the second year we have welcomed the Hampshire Flower Studio to Festival Place in the run-up to Christmas, and we know our customers love these fabulous free workshops as it allows them to spend some much needed quality time with their loved ones.
“This is also a great way to raise money for a range of local charities, which make a huge difference to people across the region.”
Sessions can be booked by visiting the Customer Lounge, or visitors can walk in on the day if spare places are available. Each adult-only workshop will last around two hours and will accommodate up to 15 people.
The five-week pop-up workshops will run every Friday and Saturday from Friday, November 15, until Saturday, December 14, from 10am-noon, and 1pm-3pm.
