All together and more festive than ever - celebrate Christmas as it should be at Festival Place

White lights twinkling on the tree, carol singing under a night sky, bunches of mistletoe and holly, scarlet poinsettias and warm egg nog shared with friends – Festival Place in Basingstoke has taken all the wonderful elements of Christmases past and put them together to create the perfect Christmas present.

The team at Festival Place in Basingstoke knows that after a tough two years separated from the ones we love, a traditional Christmas spent with friends and family will be on top of many people’s festive wish list for 2021.

So this year, the shopping centre is pulling out all the stops to create a magical, comforting Christmas filled with indulgent food and drink, perfect present ideas, and plenty of festive entertainment.

Hundreds of scarlet poinsettias and intricate light displays will create the perfect festive backdrop, with a stunning poinsettia Christmas tree taking pride of place in St John’s Square. Gorgeous decorations in red, gold, green and cream will hang alongside lush bunches of spruce, mistletoe and holly.

And after a couple of years which have seen us all reconnecting with the natural world around us, a family of festive furry friends will come together from across the globe to add to the festive cheer.

Fox, Hare, Penguin, Reindeer, Bird and Polar Bear will join a host of colourful Christmas characters to roam the centre and deliver sleigh-loads of fun, from theatre and dance to music and story-telling.

Mrs Christmas will also be on hand to sprinkle a little magic around the centre in November and December as she carries out small acts of random kindness – she might even buy an egg nog or two...

Santa will once again take up residence in the traditional grotto, and visitors can take part in festive workshops and dress up for the perfect festive photo.

Meanwhile, mums and dads will appreciate help from The Happy Wrappy gift-wrapping service in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice.

Festival Place’s cheerful staff will be on hand in the Customer Lounge to help make your visit as easy as possible, with click and collect, gift cards and lockers all available.

“We all love a heart-warming, traditional Christmas, and the Festival Place team will be pulling out all the stops to create something truly magical this year,” said Neil Churchill, Festival Place Centre Director.

“We’ve all had a tough couple of years. We’ve had to adapt to extremely challenging circumstances and spend time apart from the people we love.

“This year, we want people to spend Christmas together and make it more festive than ever. Whether they’re hunting for the perfect present or getting together for a celebratory meal, we’re determined to deliver Christmas as it should be.

“It will be six weeks of joyful festive fun – and Festival Place’s huge range of top-brand retailers, leisure facilities and restaurants will all be helping to make this year’s Christmas one to remember!”

Visiting Festival Place by car is easier than ever thanks to the state-of-the-art car park, which includes a smart system to highlight free spaces, a find my car service, and six electric charging points.
