Continued commitment to its local community has seen Newbury Building Society in Festival Place secure a spot in the finals of the prestigious Inspire Business Awards 2024.

The Basingstoke branch of the independent mutual society has been shortlisted in the Business and Community Champion category, sponsored by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

Lisa Wedge, Basingstoke Branch Manager, said: “This nomination is testament to the wide range of community, volunteer, and charity work that the Basingstoke branch team organises and takes part in year after year.

“We love supporting our charity partner, St. Michael’s Hospice, and running community events and fundraisers in the branch.

“From volunteering to organising and getting involved in amazing local campaigns, community involvement is a vital part of our work.

“I am so proud of the team for the innovative ideas they come up with to improve our local community in Basingstoke.

“They embody Newbury Building Society’s mutual ethos of supporting the people who live and work in our branch towns, so I am delighted we have been shortlisted for this Inspire award.”

Winners will be announced at the Inspire Business Awards ceremony finale at Oakley Hall on July 11.
