As part of its ongoing drive to support local businesses, Festival Place has welcomed another independent trader to its Basingstoke shopping centre.

Kushti Comics is a family-run store selling vintage action figures, toys, retro games, trading cards alongside thousands of back-issue comics.

Owner Daniel and his wife have been collectors for more than 20 years and opened the doors to their new venture last week.

“It was an amazing opening day,” said Daniel.

“We have had an absolutely awesome response and look forward to seeing more customers in the coming weeks, when we will have new comic releases, Pokémon, and some amazing vintage and retro toys.

“A very big thank you to everyone who popped in to see us – we’d love more people to pop in and have a chat as we love hearing about their collections!”

Kushti Comics becomes part of the growing independent offering at Festival Place, which includes zero waste shop Your Home Your World, Nigerian restaurant Afrizi, the family-run Festival Street Kitchen, and All Our Own Crafts, which offers some of the best handmade crafts from creators across Basingstoke and Deane.

FP centre director Neil Churchill said: “As a central part of our vibrant local community, it is important to us to support local businesses wherever we can, so we are delighted to welcome another fantastic local independent trader to Festival Place.

“Kushti Comics brings a new dimension to our already diverse range of shops that offer so many different things all under one roof."
