Festival Place's burning ambition to raise money for local hospice
Would you walk barefoot over hot coals? That’s exactly what a brave team from Festival Place in Basingstoke will be doing on September 20, as they take on an adrenalin-fuelled fundraising challenge set by St. Michael’s Hospice.
The FIREWALK will see intrepid teams putting their courage to the test as they attempt to walk 20ft barefoot over red-hot embers reaching more than 600C.
Participants will be offered top tips by a fire walking expert, with all teams pledging to raise £100 in sponsorship.
Centre Director Neil Churchill said: “We have pretty fearless members of staff here at Festival Place, but this challenge will certainly be turning up the heat!
“I’m confident they’ll be able to keep their cool and tackle the FIREWALK in blazing fashion – everyone at Festival Place is keen to raise as much money as possible for St Michael’s Hospice, which is our charity of the year for the second year running.”
The FIREWALK will be taking place at the hospice, which provides quality care for anyone facing a life-limiting illness, their families and carers throughout North Hampshire.
