Festival Place is celebrating after becoming the only shopping centre in the UK to receive a prestigious global award for its health and safety standards for the now 18th year in a row.

The popular retail and leisure destination has won 18 consecutive Gold Health and Safety Awards – and received the Order of Distinction from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in recognition.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Health & Safety Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.

Festival Place Head of Operations Gary Cooper said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award, which is due to the ongoing effort from all colleagues within the team, supporting projects and initiatives to improve health and safety standards.

“Providing a healthy, secure, and safe environment for our guests, businesses and colleagues is our priority.

“We are honoured to see our efforts being celebrated again this year, recognising our long-term commitment to delivering exceptionally high health and safety standards.

“This award is made even more special knowing we are the only shopping centre in the UK to have achieved this feat.”
