It’s nearly time to pack the car up to the roof, squeeze in the clothes drier, ask if they really need that many photo frames, and take your teens off to uni. If you still haven’t ticked everything off their lengthy uni supplies list, you’re in luck – we have everything you need under one roof, at prices that won’t break the bank.

  • You’ll find lots of bargain buys at Poundland, from fairy lights - £2 for 50 – to a multi photo frame for 50p and a 20cm saucepan with lid for a fiver.
  • There’s great stationery at Tiger. Pick up notepads, pens, pencils, highlighters and sticky notes – there's even a handy budget planner, £3, to help them keep track of their spending.
  • TK Maxx and Homesense is a one-stop shop for bedding, kitchenware, pictures, lights and everything else they might need to zhuzh up their new home from home.
  • Soaps, shampoo, body lotions and potions – check out Superdrug’s range of essential toiletries from two-for-one body sprays to half-price fruity shower gels.
  • For the eco-conscious teen, new gift and lifestyle independent store Fig & Fox has a range of beautiful houseplants, homeware, cosmetics and jewellery, all sourced from local designers and independent companies with a passion for sustainability.

  • Student accommodation often has little space, so make a little more with great storage options from Miniso, which sells everything from food storage containers to handy stacking boxes and desk organisers.
  • Why not treat them to a special dinner out on their last night? They’ll never say no to Nando’s, or a two-for-one cocktail at Las Iguanas!
