There’s so much to do over the Easter holidays here at Festival Place, from a really wild animal adventure to keeping fit and watching the latest films – plus great shopping and eating out at all our big brand stores and restaurants.

Here are just a few suggestions for fantastic family days out this Easter.

Animal magic: Visit us over the Easter holidays and you’ll come face to face with lions, tigers and bears. The amazing experts at BRICKLIVE bring their Animal Paradise model trail to the centre from April 8-19. You could also win your very own day out at FP for four people! Find out more here

Screen time: The big film at our amazing Vue cinema this Easter is Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Grab a drink and a bucket of popcorn, recline in your comfy leather seat, and follow Newt Scamander and Dumbledore as they lead a team of wizards, witches – and one brave Muggle baker – on a dangerous mission to stop powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Hoppy Easter: Bounce into Flip Out for some egg-citing family fun at Egg Mania on April 17. The Easter bunny will hop around the arena hiding Easter eggs – and it’s your task to find them all and eat them up! You’ll meet the Easter bunny and have the chance to win an extra Easter egg in the special Easter colouring competition.

Easter escapes: Battle rogue Daleks, find treasure on a sinking pirate ship, and track down a magical lamp at Escape Hunt, where the mission is to complete fiendish puzzles against the clock. You'll need to work as a team to find the clues before your time is up.

Make a splash: Try something different this Easter with a family swim session at Basingstoke Sports Centre. The kids can discover their inner mermaids at Fin2Fit classes – which includes the hire of a monofin and tail – or learn how to play mini waterpolo. You can also give your child’s swimming a boost with an Easter Holiday crash course from April 11-14 and April 19-22. To book any classes this Easter, visit dolphin@mybst.org.

Your Easter shopping basket: You’ll find everything you need for Easter at our huge range of big brand stores, from Easter wreaths and egg painting kits at Joules to fabulous Easter eggs and chocolate bunny Easter hunt kits from Hotel Chocolat.

Hot Cross Yum: There are so many places to call in to for a pit stop while you’re shopping. Costa has a range of Hot Cross Bun drinks for Easter – try your usual latte, hot chocolate or cappuccino with extra warming spices and fruity notes inspired by the Easter favourite. Children (and adults too!) will love the KitKat hot chocolate. The Doughnut Time Easter Bunny has also sprung into action, delivering you a Farmyard box filled with fruity vegan chicks, piglets and bunnies. And for a little egg-stra fun, try the Hoppy Easter DIY Kit, where you can decorate your own box of fabulous Easter doughnut treats.

Easter feasting: If you love to eat fish on Good Friday, do it in style, with a steaming bowl of Breton fish stew at Cote Brasserie. This traditional coastal stew from Brittany is packed full of mussels, prawns, squid and seabass in a tomato, white wine and chilli sauce – and you can mop up all those delicious juices with a slice of crusty French baguette. On Easter Sunday, try a twist on traditional lamb with harissa lamb shoulder, spiced cauliflower puree, tzatziki and flatbread at Cosy Club. For fab family meals on any day of the Easter holidays, tuck into a juicy burger at Five Guys – where all fries come with an extra scoop in the bag – or a classic pizza at Pizza Express, where you’ll also find gluten-free and vegan options.
