Magical Day launches 6 weeks of Festival Fun at Festival Place
All together and more festive than ever, friends and families gathered at Festival Place shopping centre in Basingstoke to enjoy the launch of its perfect traditional Christmas.
A day of magical activities on November 13 heralded the start of six weeks of festive family fun.
Set against a sparkling backdrop of beautiful red, gold and green decorations and scarlet poinsettias, the centre was filled with colourful fairy tale characters, live music from choirs and bands, theatre and dance, music and story-telling.
A traditional Santa’s Grotto, Mrs Christmas, and festive workshops added to the magical surprises around every corner.
Centre director Neil Churchill said: “We know how tough the last 18 months have been, so, this year, we have pulled out all the stops to create Christmas as it should be – full of family and friends, indulgent food and drink, perfect presents, and plenty of festive entertainment.
“We are delighted our much-anticipated launch day was so successful – everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was the perfect way to kick off six weeks of festive fun. Our visitors loved everything from the stunning poinsettia Christmas tree in St Johns Square to the brilliant live entertainment and of course our huge range of top-brand retailers and restaurants.”
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Festival Place visitors can expect Christmassy shows, a traditional Santa’s Grotto, festive workshops and photo stations, and a Happy Wrappy gift-wrapping service in aid of St. Michael’s Hospice.
